Old Photographs
One day in 1979, soon after I arrived in Berkeley, I went out specifically to shoot photographs. I shot some pics of a girl on rollerskates that was handing out fliers in front of Tower Records. Then, on Northside, I saw Psychotic Pineapple was playing a live show on a flat bed truck. I took some photos there, probably sort of pretending I was a rock journalist photographer. So I had these photos from that day in one box or another for.. twenty five years.
Then. The other day a John Seabury (bass player/poster artist) Appreciation thread shows up on gigposters.com. After dinner I decide to go throug a box of old photos, as if, and there they were. I scanned and posted a few, and then.. John Seabury shows up on the thread! He kinda flips out seeing the old pics of that gig. I sent him a zip of the photos, and the next day my wife comes in for lunch with an envelope from him with a really cool book of the tons of Psychotic Pineapple fliers he did in those days.
Those fliers always caught my eye, really great rendering. And it turns out a cool guy. You can get that book from him Here. Signed/numbered 500ed
